Movies, Movies, Movies

The movies that we saw were interesting. Although the films were maybe exagurating about the global warming crisis it was very useful to know what could happen to the environment if we don't do anything to help the earth.

The biosphere could be at risk if no one starts to stand up and try to fix the problem of global warming. Just by watching these movies I felt that it was important to begin thinking of how I could make a difference so then global warming could be prevented from happening. According to the movie An Inconvient Truth there were some graphs dipicting what has been happening to the animals and everything has been off normal for their cycles. It was shown that the caterpillars usually hatched at about the same time as the chicks but caterpillars started hatching faster. So because of this change the chicks started to feel like they needed to catch up and once they hatched it was too early and they didn't live long because it was still cold. This is a small sign of future global warming. Another sign Al Gore notcied was that is some countries such as the Alps in Switzerland or in Argentina the polar ice caps are melting and it causes many flooding and that is not good. But that wasn't the only movie.

The film After the Warming wasn't very believable after an extent. It's true that global warming is a crisis and that problems will occure but the world is not neccearily going to change because of that. One part that was over exagerated was the fact that beef would be outlawed in the year 2007. If that was true well then many people would probably be extremely angry with the government, because everyone needs their meat. Some parts of the world were going to have animals that would go extinct which that i belive. One day I was watching the news and they had said the polar bears were going to go on the list of animals that are extinct and there is a short population of them. Polar bears were going to be on that list next year because it would be more suitable but it could be too late by then. Global warming makes a lot of stress occur and it seems the government does not want to be invovled in this issue because it doesn't have anything to do with Iraq and the war but why does it have to be about those things?

The next movie we had seen in ecology was The Day After Tomorrow where it seemed another Ice Age came but only affected the northern hemisphere. There were alot of different tornados and storms brewing up in all parts of the top half of the globe. This movie could have had a connection to future storms that would come and affect millions of citizens in New Orleans, yes, Hurrican Katrina. This movie opened my eyes and told me that this might be the world in like 10 years which would cause so many people to go into a total panic and shock. That what I thought of that movie.

In conclusion all these movies seemed to have the same message in them. There is a crisis happening and if we don't try to stop it there could be some serious consequences. Based upon that statement I feel like these movies were very educational to watch and also the government should start to take some more action on this issue so we can save this planet I call home.
