Life Sense Movies are interesting

The Life Sense movies were educational and I really appreciated watching them. It was interesting to watch how both humans and animals were able to live together in an environment with out having any complications. In Africa the birds flew right into the city and the humans were not affected by them and did not feel bothered. In New York, the hawk hunting the pigeons, again humans did not mind that hunting because they probably knew that it was just a nature process with the animals. In the desert the big tree was able to survive even though there was not much water it was able to stay in good condition for about 100 years because it had sunk it's roots deep into the ground to reach water. This shows that the tree had a technique to live in the desert, and that is a pentualism relationship. Anyway the movies showed the many relationships between plants, species, and humans and how they helped each other in the world. I like it and we should do it more often

Movies, Movies, Movies

The movies that we saw were interesting. Although the films were maybe exagurating about the global warming crisis it was very useful to know what could happen to the environment if we don't do anything to help the earth.

The biosphere could be at risk if no one starts to stand up and try to fix the problem of global warming. Just by watching these movies I felt that it was important to begin thinking of how I could make a difference so then global warming could be prevented from happening. According to the movie An Inconvient Truth there were some graphs dipicting what has been happening to the animals and everything has been off normal for their cycles. It was shown that the caterpillars usually hatched at about the same time as the chicks but caterpillars started hatching faster. So because of this change the chicks started to feel like they needed to catch up and once they hatched it was too early and they didn't live long because it was still cold. This is a small sign of future global warming. Another sign Al Gore notcied was that is some countries such as the Alps in Switzerland or in Argentina the polar ice caps are melting and it causes many flooding and that is not good. But that wasn't the only movie.

The film After the Warming wasn't very believable after an extent. It's true that global warming is a crisis and that problems will occure but the world is not neccearily going to change because of that. One part that was over exagerated was the fact that beef would be outlawed in the year 2007. If that was true well then many people would probably be extremely angry with the government, because everyone needs their meat. Some parts of the world were going to have animals that would go extinct which that i belive. One day I was watching the news and they had said the polar bears were going to go on the list of animals that are extinct and there is a short population of them. Polar bears were going to be on that list next year because it would be more suitable but it could be too late by then. Global warming makes a lot of stress occur and it seems the government does not want to be invovled in this issue because it doesn't have anything to do with Iraq and the war but why does it have to be about those things?

The next movie we had seen in ecology was The Day After Tomorrow where it seemed another Ice Age came but only affected the northern hemisphere. There were alot of different tornados and storms brewing up in all parts of the top half of the globe. This movie could have had a connection to future storms that would come and affect millions of citizens in New Orleans, yes, Hurrican Katrina. This movie opened my eyes and told me that this might be the world in like 10 years which would cause so many people to go into a total panic and shock. That what I thought of that movie.

In conclusion all these movies seemed to have the same message in them. There is a crisis happening and if we don't try to stop it there could be some serious consequences. Based upon that statement I feel like these movies were very educational to watch and also the government should start to take some more action on this issue so we can save this planet I call home.

Webquest

The internet isn't trust worthy sometimes when we are searching for information because the creators of certain websites lie and put up fake information. Imagine trying to research the "rare" tree octupuse and found the picture of an octupuse in a pine tree.http://zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/treeocto.jpg yeah um it's stupid. I think it's hard to trust websites because they don't tell good information.

After the Warming

The movie After the Warming shows how bad global warming can be. It presents the future as really horrible and scary. But if this move was created in the early 1990's, then how did the movie creators "know" what was going to happen to the earth in 18 years? Well they didn't and none of the stuff they said would happen, didn't occur. The reason that brought all these events up was prbobably the fact that something in the world was going on so some one did some research and saw that global warming was occuring very little bit though. So they made this documentary to teach people and tell them what they should try to do, to contibute to help save the planet.

This movie was published in 1991 but i'm not very sure when it was made. My feelings on this documentary are that, it was very corny and non believable. I think that in 1991, people did not know what the future was going to have or bring on to them. The narrator said that in 2007 problems would happen and that meat would be outlawed. It's the year 2007 right now and meat, the last time i checked, wasn't outlawed. So that was definitely a lie, big time.

In conclusion I don't like this film, and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It does make me feel motivated to try to change the world and make it a better place so then global warming will weaken. But other than that others will have to contribute too. So those are my motives and my opinions and i'm sticking by them until some one trys to tell me other wise.

SHOES

http://z.about.com/d/shoes/1/7/Q/J/011006_nike_shoes.jpg

Shoes are used in everyday life and does anyone bother to take the time to find out what their shoes are made of? Well after reading the article called Shoes, changed my point of view. Before reading this i never knew that it takes so much rubber to make a pair of shoes, or how much material they put in when making the shoe boxes. I find it very weird and interesting. The article made me think that we use a lot of resources to make our products and i don't think anybody has tried to find a better way to use less rubber to make the shoes or something like that. I hope that you learned from this and can think about how to make a change and in how much work went into making your shoes.

Scientific Method

The Scientific Method is used a lot to determine many things. But mostly it was used to organize theorys and experiments used by scientists and it did help them. The Scientific method is very important becuase if you don't use it, then your experiment could totally mess up. Also the way things could mess up is that your thoughts would be unorganized and nothing would go in order. The experiment would happen before the hypothesis and you would have nothing really to prove. The steps to the method are as follows:

1.) Find something you want to experiment, something with a changer over time.
2.) Develop a hypothesis to think of what will be the end result of the experiment or what will happen if you observe it
3.) Test out your hypothesis and see if you were right.
4.) Do a conclusion of your ending results

Wow there are only four simple steps to that or maybe more but that's ok. Just pretty much that's what every scientist does to make doing experiments easier. I think that a theory is a statement that makes you think about what how the experiment works or how anything works. All in all the Scientific Method can be useful and many should be able to use it in order to organize their thinking and experiments.

Final Exam Answer

Everyday it seems that people tend to feel like they don't make an impact on the world, but really they do without even knowing it. I sometimes think that I would make an impact on the Earth. I try not to liter because it's harmful to every living things. Litering and trash makes me feel that our world is becoming a dump because our carelessness to try to clean up and put a soda can into the trash. But then what happens if it isn't enough. Global warming is approching and despite the warnings most of the country chooses to ignore it.

Makeup is kind of an issue, because there are some products that test on animals. So anytime I go to buy some makeup i read the label to make sure that it wasn't on animals. I am eating a lot of organic foods lately. I heard it is good for many reasons so that's why I choose to eat organic stuff.

In conclusion and just in general I have left some footprints as time has passed. It makes me feel good about myself knowing that I can make a difference in the world.
